This picture is posted in response to requests to have a look
at Giardia, a human intestinal parasite of particular concern
to backpackers and hikers.

This is a Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of a Giardia muris
trophozoite.  It is taken from "Giardia and Giardiasis", 1984,
by Erlandsen and Meyer.
