This is a 1440x740 pixel composite image of the entire earth. Rick Kohrs (rickk@ssec.wisc.edu) created it with data taken by the GMS, GOES 7, METEOSAT 3, METEOSAT 4, NOAA 11, and NOAA 12 satellites on 26 August 1993. In this image the clouds are from the IR satellite imagery, but the land and sea are from a base map (i.e. not from the satellite imagery). Because of this the water in the image is only one shade of blue. Note that some discontinuities are visible between data from different sources. Rick Kohrs rickk@ssec.wisc.edu DaviD W.
